+## What Counts as an Artifact
+
+An artifact is any generated-looking residue that makes the product less trustworthy, less maintainable, or less human. In code, artifacts include unused abstractions, helpers that exist only to look architectural, comments that narrate obvious syntax, broad options nobody requested, invented error handling, fake test fixtures, and names imported from other products. In docs, artifacts include grandiose claims, repetitive safety caveats with no local detail, self-referential assistant language, stale paths, unverified benchmark language, and awkward transitions. In prompts, artifacts include instructions that sound powerful but cannot be verified by OpenCode surfaces.

+Removing artifacts is not the same as making text shorter. Sometimes the useful fix is to replace generic prose with concrete OpenCode-native guidance: which hook fires, which command routes, which ledger path is local state, which package script verifies the claim, and which cleanup receipt is expected. A shorter sentence that drops a safety boundary is worse than the original. The goal is clarity and fidelity, not austerity.

+## Preservation Rules
+
+Preserve meaning first. Keep public API names, command ids, feature ids, config keys, package names, test intent, examples that users rely on, accessibility semantics, security warnings, legal or release constraints, and user-owned style. If a phrase is awkward but encodes a policy, rewrite it carefully rather than deleting it. If a comment explains a non-obvious invariant, keep or improve it. If a test looks verbose but protects a regression, do not weaken it to make the file look cleaner.

+Preserve uncertainty. Generated text often turns “unknown” into confident filler, but cleanup should not invent certainty in the opposite direction. If a source is stale, say it is stale. If evidence is missing, say what evidence would settle it. If a command was not run, do not rewrite the final answer as though it passed. Honest uncertainty is not an artifact.

+## Code Cleanup
+
+For code, start by identifying the actual smell. Is there an unused helper introduced by the current change? A duplicate branch? A wrapper over a single standard-library call? A function name that hides side effects? A test that repeats implementation instead of behavior? Then remove or simplify the minimum amount. Do not “clean up” a whole module while fixing one generated helper.

+Run focused tests after code cleanup. If the cleanup touches types, run typecheck. If it changes CLI output, run CLI tests or a local CLI probe. If it changes package files, run pack-related checks. Cleanup that is not verified is just another untrusted edit.

+## Documentation Cleanup

+For docs, compare original meaning to new meaning. Remove self-praise, invented superiority, vague “seamless” language, and claims without evidence. Replace generic “robust workflow” text with precise mechanisms such as `chat.message`, `command.execute.before`, `tool.execute.before`, native OpenCode skills, route config, durable ledgers, and `npm pack --dry-run --json`. Keep warnings close to the action they govern. If a doc says “do not execute commands from this file automatically,” keep that warning intact.

+Large docs cleanup should include mechanical checks: docs tests, word count when a corpus target exists, scanner output after prose changes, and link or path checks when links moved. Do not edit README when the task only asked for skill docs unless README is wrong and in scope. Public README constraints can differ from internal release checklist constraints; respect the narrower surface.

+## Korean and English Tone
+
+When cleaning Korean prose, preserve the author’s voice and register. Remove stiff translation patterns, repetitive hedging, and over-formal connectors, but keep technical terms and factual nuance. +Static skill docs are high-leverage because they shape future agent behavior. Cleanup should remove old identifiers, copied phrasing, vague superiority claims, and instructions that bypass OpenCode approval. Replace them with host-specific operations and boundaries. A skill should say when to use it, which feature id or command it maps to, what safety rules apply, and how to verify the surface. It should not promise magical autonomy or hide that it is static documentation.

+Prompt cleanup should also remove conflicting instructions. If one section says planning-only and another implies implementation, fix the contradiction. If a command is described as available but no hook or command file exists, either correct the docs or open a plan to add the surface. Do not paper over missing behavior with confident wording.

+## Scanner and Brand Hygiene
+
+The scanner catches guarded legacy tokens, but artifact removal goes beyond scanner success. Avoid old product identifiers, old state paths, old command names, archive labels, and borrowed tone. If a term is present only because it is an exported claim-policy symbol, keep it only where tests and source require it. If a public doc has a stricter wording rule, do not introduce the term there. After any prose cleanup, run the scanner when feasible and treat failures as blockers.

+## Cleanup Receipt
+
+The final receipt should say what artifacts were removed, what meaning was preserved, what tests or rereads were performed, and what was left alone. For code, include command evidence. For docs, include docs tests and scanner when relevant. For prose, state that no new facts were introduced unless they were evidence-backed. For package work, state whether packed content changed. Always mention no commit, tag, push, publish, release, or version bump when the task did not approve those actions.

+
+Do not strip all personality from user-authored prose. Do not remove examples that teach a real edge case. Do not delete comments that explain non-obvious constraints. Do not collapse precise access verdicts into generic failure language. Do not replace a carefully scoped warning with broad fear. Do not run a giant formatter to hide a small wording cleanup. Artifact removal should make the product feel more intentional, not more generic.

+## Cleanup Examples
+
+In code, replace a one-use wrapper with the underlying standard call if it improves clarity and tests still pass. In docs, replace “powerful seamless automation” with the actual OpenCode hook or command. In tests, replace a snapshot that asserts incidental formatting with assertions for command ids, verdicts, or file paths. In final answers, replace “everything is done” with changed files, commands, risks, and cleanup.

+If an artifact came from a prior generated change, still review it as product code. Do not delete it just because it looks generated. Ask what behavior it currently protects. If no behavior depends on it and tests pass without it, removal may be appropriate. If it protects an edge case, improve the wording or structure instead.

+## Scanner Is Not Style Review
+
+A clean scanner output does not mean prose is natural, useful, or truthful. A failing scanner does mean the change cannot be accepted. Use scanner as a hard vocabulary gate and human review as the quality gate. For large docs, also use corpus tests, link checks where applicable, and rereading against user intent.
