+- A public data class's `copy()` function and `componentN()` destructuring functions are generated from the primary constructor's parameter list and order; adding, removing, or reordering a property changes `componentN` numbering and the `copy()` signature, which is a binary-compatibility event for any consumer compiled against the old shape.
+- Because an inline function's body is copied into the caller's compiled bytecode at the call site rather than invoked, changing a public inline function's body does not immediately change behavior for already-compiled callers — they keep executing the old inlined logic until they are recompiled against the new library version.
+- A default parameter value on a public Kotlin function is supplied at the callee, not copied into the caller: an omitted argument at a Kotlin call site invokes the compiler-generated `$default` method, and a Java caller either supplies every parameter explicitly or calls the `@JvmOverloads`-generated overload, whose body supplies the default — so changing a default's value changes behavior for already-compiled callers without recompilation, while adding a parameter is a binary-incompatible change to the generated `$default`/overload signature. +
+This skill turns a raw Kotlin/JVM/Android/KMP task into a routing decision: the narrowest qualified specialist (or a parallel team of up to four), an out-of-board handoff, or a refuse-and-ask when scope or version context is missing. It exists so that Kotlin work reaches the specialist who owns the exact decision, and so that Java-owned, cloud-owned, observability-owned, and signing-owned concerns leave the board instead of being answered here.

+
+This skill decides whether a kotlinx.serialization wire contract is safe to ship and safe to evolve. A contract is safe only when encode-side default/null behavior is understood by every consumer, decode-side strictness matches the deployment-coupling reality (lockstep vs rolling), polymorphic types crossing a trust boundary are closed (sealed) rather than open, and a proposed change is correctly classified additive or breaking given that a defaulted property is optional on decode.
+
+## Trigger conditions
+
+- A user provides `@Serializable` classes, `Json {}` configuration, or a proposed schema change and asks whether it is wire-compatible.
+- A user is diagnosing an unexpected `SerializationException`, a missing/extra field on the wire, or a polymorphic-decode failure.

+## Lean operating rules
+

+
+This skill decides whether a Kotlin/Gradle release is trustworthy at the dependency-supply-chain level. A release is safe only when dependency verification is enforced in strict mode with checksums (and signatures where available), transitive dependencies are locked and CI fails closed on drift, every plugin is pinned and sourced from a trusted repository, repository scope prevents dependency confusion, and the published artifact carries complete metadata and recorded verification/lock evidence. Cryptographic signing and SLSA attestation are explicitly out of scope and handed to the sigstore board.

+## Lean operating rules
+
+- CRITICAL — a project resolving dependencies with no `gradle/verification-metadata.xml`, or with verification present but not enforced in `strict` mode, accepts any artifact a compromised or substituted repository serves as trusted; require verification metadata cover, at minimum, checksums for every dependency reaching a release build, and flag advisory-only (non-strict) verification as insufficient for a release pipeline.
