Due to a last minute game submission request from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to edit some of the in-game Liberty City radio station, television, and internet content – we are forced to delay the worldwide release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for both PlayStation 3 and PC for an extra two weeks.

The new release date for Episodes from Liberty City - and the two downloadable episodes The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony - on those platforms is now April 13th in North America and April 16th in Europe. This new date will enable us to rectify these changes for Sony Europe, and still allow for a level playing field for all of the Grand Theft Auto fans that have been waiting patiently for this release. In the meantime, we’re moving full speed ahead towards the new game release date. On that note – please be aware that the Grand Theft Auto IV PlayStation 3 leaderboards at Rockstar Games Social Club will be down for maintenance for one week starting March 22nd as we work on their re-launch in support of Episodes from Liberty City.

Unfortunately, with each round of changes comes fully re-testing the game and a full re-submission to PlayStation. This is the nature of the game submission process. Believe us, if we could expedite the turnaround any sooner – we would. We are dying to get this game in the hands of fans who’ve waited for it for so long in the first place.

I'm rereading some of these posts talking enthusiastically about optimization of bug free, but the moment I started the first cut scene in the bank there were guns floating around and people talking, the models were INVISIBLE. Since I haven't ever played this because I don't have a 360 I still don't know what was going on, although I heard packie's voice talking to his brother. When I spawned in as louis in front of tony both of them were invisible or whoever louis spawned with. I had to his ESC and go back in suddenly everything respawned and I could see. I checked all settings with GTA IV and did the same exact ones but while on the high way and moving I get significantly lower fps and more jerkyness. I listed my specs below and that really isn't the issue. Its really strange how textures from about 50 feet will flicker on and off in some locations. If you want to play this on high settings you are going to need more than you did in GTA IV. The people who have already bought it as I can tell will defend this to the death, and they will urge everyone to buy it so they won't play alone. I am just mad at myself for splurging and purchasing this when I told myself that it was going to be a rip-off, I feel that this is an honest opinion.

I went ahead and got the EFLC because I had paypal cash anyways and I was bored. I must say I am extremely and surprisingly disappointed by this quick port. TBOGT plays at much lower framerates and has wierd issues such as sometimes models disappear, also another is when flying textures flicker, and the games definition has just gone down, even with an added option for anistropic filtering. You should know that day one has about 3 games on it with around 10 people altogether that are all getting to know eachother real well. There are about 3 games in TBOGT MP going on and I'm told that TLAD has none, though I haven't checked. I also should mention that the options in MP have been reduced, you can no longer pick low medium or high level or different classifications of guns in the game now, the game types are actually reduced to dm tdm race race nitro and free mode. The story for TBOGT is interesting, but its not ground breaking. I'm really surprised just at how little was put into the expansion for PC. Truly you may want to rethink this or borrow someones steam and maybe they can let you play test it. I do run on a quad-core 3ghz geforce 275 and I used to run GTA IV smoothly. This game is rather choppy and has very wierd graphical glitches. It is similar to replaces all the cars in GTA IV with high resolution ones and everything lags. That is kind of what this expansion is. There are no positive tweaks that I can see as far as GTA IV is concerned. All that was added was simply scripting that honestly would have been done for free by any of the GTA community. Unfortunately the coding to do so or even the option for adding modules isn't a possibility. Even the amount of clothing has been reduced extremely even for rank 0. All and all its pretty lacking. It is not optimized... Do not go into it thinking that. It has some extremely weird glitches things disappearing and reappearing. Some will get on here and defend it saying they are having a blast exclamation point... but that wears off after you drive the new car, shoot the new guns, and fly the new helicopter, the other cool stuff like team mafia work etc is removed. Its just unfortunate that they care so little, perhaps the PS3 version is different though. I am speaking in terms of the PC version.

Atleast if they are fixing bug issues and stuff its only 2 weeks.. try doing somthing new instead of sitting on your computer for 2 weeks .. theres alot of things out there instead of videogames. Personally I think America should have it released on the release day seeing as there was no problem for them - I don't live in USA either.
