# wash-bin
11
+
12
+
[wash](https://github.com/wasmCloud/wasmCloud) CLI repackaged as Python wheels for easy installation via tools like `uv`.
13
+
14
+
wash is the command-line tool for wasmCloud development.
15
+
16
+
## Install
17
+
18
+
```sh
19
+
uv tool install wash-bin
20
+
wash --version
21
+
```
22
+
23
+

## How It Works
36
+
37
+
This package downloads the official wash release binaries from
38
+
[wasmCloud/wasmCloud](https://github.com/wasmCloud/wasmCloud/releases)
39
+
and repackages each as a platform-specific Python wheel.
40
+
41
+
A thin Python entry point (`console_scripts`) delegates to the native binary,
42
+
so `wash` is available on `PATH` after install.
43
+
44
+
## Development
45
+
46
+
python, uv, & just are needed. Here is a quick setup example on Linux:
47
+
48
+
```bash
49
+
tdnf install -y python3 python3-pip
50
+
python3 -m pip install uv
51
+
echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bashrc && source ~/.bashrc
52
+
uv tool install rust-just
53
+
```
54
+
55
+
## License
56
+
57
+
This package redistributes wash under its
58
+
[Apache-2.0](https://github.com/wasmCloud/wasmCloud/blob/main/LICENSE) license.
