However, since January, the first month of the lunar calendar, is the time when the greatest number of customs occur, it has been divided into separate volumes. This dictionary is broadly divided into the lunar and solar calendars, and the lunar calendar is divided into sections by major dates, such as New Year's Day and the First Full Moon, by seasonal events, such as Ipchun and Usu, and by month and occupation. Consequently, researchers in each field are publishing papers in a highly individualized fashion, leading to a chaotic use of terminology. The absence of specialized terminology dictionaries across disciplines has made standardizing terminology crucial for productive communication in the field of records management. Against this backdrop, the Korean Society of Archives and Records Management (KSR) initiated a dictionary compilation project to incorporate scholarly achievements while also sharing insights into the needs and challenges facing the field. Since 2004, with support from the National Research Foundation of Korea, the project has been underway. Interim results have been posted on the KSR website to gather feedback from researchers and students. This dictionary, supplemented by the findings, has been published.",

+ "description": "The Dictionary of Korean Traditional Architectural Terminology is a well-organized book that provides a comprehensive overview of frequently used core terms in Korean architecture, accompanied by abundant photos and drawings.\n\nPublisher's Review of the 2025 Revised and Expanded Edition\n\nThis book was conceived with the goal of making Korean architecture easier to learn. Existing glossaries, lamenting the use of Japanese terminology in the practice and theory of traditional Korean architecture, aimed to discover Korean architectural terms to replace them. Consequently, the focus on collecting terminology resulted in regional variations, different meanings for the same term, and even general architectural terms intermingled. This situation inevitably presented a significant challenge for students of Korean architecture, and the author's first attempt to make Korean architecture accessible was \"Korean Architectural Terminology in Pictures\" (Balyeon, 2000).\n\nIn his first book, the author organized around 300 high-frequency terms, focusing on drawings. This was significantly expanded and published as \"Easy-to-Understand Dictionary of Korean Architectural Terminology\" (Dongnyok, 2007). While maintaining the core principle of organizing Korean architecture with a focus on drawings and photographs and selecting frequently used terms to facilitate understanding, the author significantly expanded the vocabulary to around 700-800 terms.\n\nThis revised and expanded edition includes approximately 1,000 additional terms, with corresponding drawings and photographs for every term. Even when explaining the same term, photos from various angles may be used, so additional photographs have been added to enrich the explanations. The book's goal remains to facilitate a more accessible and accurate study of Korean architecture.",
