+## Steps (must run in order)
+

+   **This also auto-updates the SQLite-backed topic brief** (`api_topic_brief` table) with `latest_summary_md` — no separate step 5 needed for the summary portion.

+4. **Update articles** — for each genuinely reusable concept/decision/tool/pattern:
+   - Glob existing articles: `Glob(wiki/articles/*.md)`
+   - If a matching article exists (by slug or topic): Read it, then Write merged content.
+     - **Preserve frontmatter `date:` (first-seen) and `status:`.** Only refresh `updated:`.
+     - **Preserve manually written body sections.** Only append/update what the session adds.
+   - If new: Write `wiki/articles/<slug>.md` using the **article format** below.
+   - Skip session-specific noise. If nothing qualifies, no articles change — that's fine.
+5. **Update the topic brief** at `wiki/topic/<topic>.md`:
+   - Read the existing brief if present
+   - Write a fresh brief using the **brief format** below (overwrite — this file is regenerated each session)
+   - Note: `save_wiki_entry` in step 3 handles the SQLite-backed `latest_summary_md`. This step handles the persistent `brief_md` file which is the canonical long-form topic brief for system prompt injection (R2 shared model).
+6. **Update the dual indexes via `mcp__wiki__index_upsert` — one call per entry.**
+   The MCP handles in-place updates, section insertion, the `created` vs `updated` date split, and atomic file writes. Do **not** Read/Write the index files manually.

+   **For each new or updated article** (from step 4):
+   - First, scan `wiki/article-index.md` once with `Read` to see existing `## ...` headers, then pick the closest matching section.
