+## Creating a project
+
+If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!

+## Developing
+
+Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with `npm install` (or `pnpm install` or `yarn`), start a development server:

+## Text Tool Improvements (2025-10-29)
+
+- Configure `fabric.Textbox` with TLdraw-like border and selection colours using native Fabric properties (`borderColor`, `editingBorderColor`, `selectionColor`, etc.) without introducing extra overlay objects.
+- Simplified the edit lifecycle: Fabric now handles hover/edit visuals, while we ensure placeholders restore after `editing:exited` and outside clicks call `exitEditing()`.
+- Kept textbox focusing logic lightweight—just focus the hidden textarea and rely on Fabric’s built-in selection/caret behaviour.
+- Resolved previous lint warnings in `src/lib/canvas/tools/ToolController.ts` by tightening event typings and removing unused overlay helpers.
