+# space-gib-chat-view Web Component Specification
+
+## 1. Overview & Architectural Role
+
+`space-gib-chat-view` is an `@ibgib` Web Component that provides a live discussion and companion note thread directly inside the Right Panel (`#right-panel`).
+
+### Inverted Soft Rel8ns & Living Discussions
+In standard VCS platforms (GitHub, GitLab), review comments and discussion threads live outside version control in centralized database tables. In `ibgib`:
+- Discussions, notes, and comments are first-class **metatext ibgibs** (`b2tfs_file` or comment nodes).
+- They link to target code entities (files, directories, commit tips) via **inverted soft rel8ns** (`data.targetAddr`).
+- Discussions travel with branches and merge accretively across spaces without polluting code ASTs.
+- This component renders those linked discussions in a natural, conversational chat interface.
