+ # ATape CLI
2
+
3
+ The ATape CLI registers local Projects, manages independently installed Harness Adapters, and runs the background Collector that uploads shared conversation history to an ATape server.
4
+
5
+ ## Requirements
6
+
7
+ - Node.js 24 or newer
8
+ - macOS or Linux for `atape start`, `stop`, and `status`; Windows can run `atape collect`
9
+
10
+ ## Install
11
+
12
+ ```sh
13
+ npm install --global @atape/cli
14
+ atape --version
15
+ ```
16
+
17
+ The package contains one bundled executable. Internal ATape workspace packages are not installed globally, and Harness Adapters remain separate packages. Install the first-party Adapter independently:
18
+
19
+ ```sh
20
+ atape adapters install @atape/adapter-codex
21
+ ```
22
+
23
+ Checksummed `.tgz` files attached to each GitHub Release provide the equivalent offline installation path.
24
+
25
+ ## First Project
26
+
27
+ ```sh
28
+ atape setup /path/to/project --user-id <your-name> --team-id <team-id>
29
+ atape adapters install <adapter-package>
30
+ atape adapters enable <adapter-id> --project <project-id>
31
+ atape start
32
+ atape status
33
+ ```
34
+
35
+ Local paths, Adapter configuration, checkpoints, and Collector health remain on this machine. Canonical and Raw conversation data are uploaded only for explicitly configured Projects.
36
+
37
+ ## Build and verify from the repository
38
+
39
+ ```sh
40
+ pnpm --filter @atape/cli build
41
+ pnpm test:cli-package
42
+ pnpm test:release
43
+ pnpm pack:release
44
+ ```
45
+
46
+ The CLI package verification installs its generated tarball into an isolated npm prefix, installs a temporary Adapter, starts the bundled background Collector, observes a successful cycle, and stops it without using the source tree at runtime. Release verification additionally installs the independently bundled Codex Adapter through that packaged CLI and executes a collection cycle. `release/SHA256SUMS` covers both artifacts.
