# Putson
2
+
3
+
A quick Ruby interface to put some JSON somewhere. Integrated first with [myjson](http://myjson.com/).
4
+
5
+
## Installation
6
+
7
+
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
8
+
9
+
```ruby
10
+
gem 'putson'
11
+
```
12
+
13
+
And then execute:
14
+
15
+
$ bundle
16
+
17
+
Or install it yourself as:
18
+
19
+
$ gem install putson
20
+
21
+
## Usage
22
+
23
+
Create an instance
24
+
```ruby
25
+
> putson = Putson::Client.new
26
+
=> #<Putson::Client:0x007f927b06ae40 @id=nil>
27
+
```
28
+
29
+
Post some data
30
+
```ruby
31
+
# Data can be JSON (as a string). Or another object that responds to `to_json`.
32
+
> putson.post({yo: 'lo'})
33
+
=> "lwdaz"
34
+
```
35
+
36
+
Get some data
37
+
```ruby
38
+
> putson.get
39
+
=> "{\"yo\":\"lo\"}"
40
+
# You can also get data from another id
41
+
> putson.get('abc123')
42
+
=> "another response"
43
+
```
44
+
45
+
Update some data
46
+
```ruby
47
+
> putson.put({yo: 'no'})
48
+
=> "lwdaz"
49
+
> putson.get
50
+
=> "{\"yo\":\"no\"}"
51
+
```
52
+
53
+
## Development
54
+
55
+
After checking out the repo, run `bin/setup` to install dependencies. Then, run `rake spec` to run the tests. You can also run `bin/console` for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
56
+
57
+
To install this gem onto your local machine, run `bundle exec rake install`. To release a new version, update the version number in `version.rb`, and then run `bundle exec rake release`, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the `.gem` file to [rubygems.org](https://rubygems.org).
