# Lifecycle-Ruby
3
+
4
+
Welcome to Lifecycle. If you are unfamiliar with who we are and what we do, check us out at [lifecycle.io](https://lifecycle.io).
5
+
## Installation
6
+
7
+
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
8
+
9
+
```ruby
10
+
gem 'lifecycle_api'
11
+
```
12
+
13
+
And then execute:
14
+
15
+
$ bundle
16
+
17
+
Or install it yourself as:
18
+
19
+
$ gem install lifecycle_api
20
+
21
+
## Usage
22
+
To use, simply create an instance of the client and identify and track away!
23
+
24
+
```ruby
25
+
require 'lifecycle_api'
26
+
27
+
lifecycle = Lifecycle::Client.new 'YOUR_LIFECYCLE_API_KEY'
28
+
```
29
+
30
+
TO IDENTIFY:
31
+
```ruby
32
+
lifecycle.identify params #(see example of params)
33
+
```
34
+
35
+
TO TRACK:
36
+
```ruby
37
+
lifecycle.track 'event_id', 'unique_id'
38
+
```
39
+
40
+
41
+
```ruby
42
+
#Example of params variable to use with identify call
43
+
params = {:unique_id => "1234",
44
+
:first_name => "Nathan",
45
+
:last_name => "Mooney",
46
+
:email_address => "someone@lifecycle.io",
47
+
:phone_number => "12345678913"
48
+
}
49
+
```
50
+
Use this gem to interact with your Lifecycle account. Easily identify users and track users with minimal code. If you are looking for packages in a language other than ruby, check out the TeamLifecycle organization for your desired language. It is our hope that by providing this gem, integration and usage of Lifecycle will be quick and easy.
51
+
52
+
## Development
53
+
54
+
After checking out the repo, run `bin/setup` to install dependencies. Then, run `rake test` to run the tests. You can also run `bin/console` for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
55
+
56
+
To install this gem onto your local machine, run `bundle exec rake install`. To release a new version, update the version number in `version.rb`, and then run `bundle exec rake release`, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the `.gem` file to [rubygems.org](https://rubygems.org).
57
+
58
