When these certificates match the hostname of the remote server, running <tt class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">knife</span> <span class="pre">ssl</span> <span class="pre">fetch</span></tt> is the only step required to verify a remote server that is accessed by either knife or the chef-client.</p>
