+# Siftdog
+
+**Siftdog is the new name of [Sifthound](https://pypi.org/project/sifthound/)**, an open-source,
+self-hosted web search, extract, crawl and map API for AI agents and a drop-in replacement for
+the Tavily API. The rename is in progress.
+
+This release installs Sifthound 0.2.1 and adds a `siftdog` command that runs it:
+

+siftdog --port 8000        # the API server (same as `sifthound`)
+siftdog mcp                # the MCP server over stdio
+```
