+# RUG - RUby Git
+
+A helper that makes managing remote git repositories a snap.
+
+Think of RUG as a layer you place over Git to turn your ugly, scratched up, bare-Git floor into a beautiful, easy to use RUG.
+
+RUG runs as a daemon on your Git server and as a command line application on your clients allowing you to create remote repositories and manage git scripts automatically.
+
+RUG makes creating remote repos as simple as `rug create repo_name on server_name`. 
+
+RUG even allows you to automatically embed your Git scripts in the repo itself. No more jumping through hoops to make sure your scripts are maintained with your project; with RUG you just store your scripts in the `git_scripts` directory and they're automatically updated and run. 
+
+Instead of running `git command parameters` you run the exact same command but using RUG so `rug command parameters`. RUG handles any pre-command work, runs the git command, then handles any post-command work; there's nothing extra you have to do.
+
