+ # Json2plist
2
+
3
+ This is a very simple gem that allows to generate a plist from any json and comes with a handy command line tool to do that also with files.
4
+
5
+ ## Installation
6
+
7
+ Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
8
+
9
+ gem 'json2plist'
10
+
11
+ And then execute:
12
+
13
+ $ bundle
14
+
15
+ Or install it yourself as:
16
+
17
+ $ gem install json2plist
18
+
19
+ ## Usage
20
+
21
+ ### In your code
22
+
23
+ You can use it in your app by just using the convert method in the library:
24
+
25
+ require 'json2plist'
26
+ # Generate your wonderful plist
27
+ plist = Json2plist::convert(json)
28
+ # Do whatever you want with it
29
+ File.write("/somewhere/over/the/rainbow.plist", plist)
30
+
31
+ Or you can use the command line:
32
+
33
+ json2plist -i some.json -o wonderful.plist
34
+
35
+ ## Why would you create this thing?
36
+
37
+ Doing this with ruby is straightforward, but not everyone in our team are Ruby developers, and sometimes we have to convert JSON into Plist in our build processes. For example: We use this gem to maintain configuration options for our Android and iOS apps in one single place, we edit only the JSON files and then a plist is generated for iOS joy.
38
+
39
+ ## Disclaimer
40
+
41
+ Don't think about using this to generate Plist files from Ruby hashes or objects by converting them into a JSON first. For this use the awesome [plist gem](https://github.com/bleything/plist).
42
+
43
+ ## Contributing
44
+
45
+ 1. Fork it
46
+ 2. Create your feature branch (`git checkout -b my-new-feature`)
47
+ 3. Commit your changes (`git commit -am 'Add some feature'`)
48
+ 4. Push to the branch (`git push origin my-new-feature`)
49
+ 5. Create new Pull Request
